Students Projects and Expeditions

Every year, Ulysses takes many School Groups from Overseas and India. These Expeditions include mix of adventure and cultural activities. It is a chance of a life time for the Students. They have physical challenges and great fun, learning survival techniques, team spirit and sportsmanship, history and heritage etc. They can gain confidence and experience, and learn how other children study and live in the Himalayas. They can see how much children have to do at home, before and after school, helping and working with their parents in these far far away places. Where even water has to be earned.

Expeditions can last from two weeks to five weeks and the whole trip is divided into three sections:

  1. Local Sightseeing and City tours.
  2. Work on a School or Village project with local students and villagers, experiencing local traditions. Some fun with cultural programs.
  3. Adventure Expeditions and Activities: Trekking, Camping, Rafting, Cycling and other Sports.

These Projects are helpful for the Students’ personal development.

We look after all the Projects and Trekking Expeditions. We select a local school for the project. Get permission and support from local villagers and authorities, and provide the field team, equipment, transport and accommodation. Students work for a week or two sharing their culture, sports and other activities with the village, as well as contributing some useful aid and support towards the school, to improve the life of the local students.

Activity hours and days are well planned and arranged. Our kitchen staff, porters / horses, and instructors are with the Students to support them at every stage. Transport, safety issues and other rescue measures are well arranged. These trekking routes are well planned and always lead to safe, breath-taking amazing places, where children are free from pollution and other hassles of towns. It is a great opportunity for children to be in the silence of the Himalayas.

There has been a lot of interest and inquiries from Europe and India. Over the past 5 years we have taken many Western and Indian Students with us on projects and Expeditions.
