Ulysses 360 Degrees

Adventure Quest | Trekking Himalayas |
Trek Sahyadris

Methodology behind the Adventure Quests

All the adventure quests organized by the Ulysses will demand active participation of the intended trekkers, who will be assigned with the specific job which will have to be meticulously carried out. For this each member (of the trekking group) will be designated with a post and the others will have to abide by him/her on his/her field. In this way a democratic format will always be maintained. The hierarchy of the posts will be something like this: Leader, Camp commandant, Navigator, L.O. (Liaison Officer) & interpreter, Equipment in charge, Quarter master, R.O. (Rationing Officer), Reporter and Official photographer etc.

 Some standard functions:

1.     Leader: Will be the head of the entire group.

2.     Camp Commandant (C.C.): Will be heading the camping requirements like campsite selection, finding source of water, safe keeping of equipments (the equipment in charge will assist him in this) after the conclusion of the day’s trek, Kitchen (In this Quarter master and R.O. will help him) etc. in fact the host of other things will come under his purview, but all this will be done with consultation of the leader.

3.     Navigator: His principal duty will be to navigate and assist the leader in path finding.

4.     Liaison Officer (L.O.): He will be acting as the bridge between the out side world and the trekking group, ticketing and arrangement of vehicular transport for forward journey will have to be done by him. He only will have to brief the trekking group (From time to time) about the various Dos and Don’ts and other statutory warnings. If possible he will act as an interpreter also. Hotel/Huts booking will also have to be done by him.

5.     Equipment in charge: After the conclusion of the day’s trek he will be the in charge for the safe keeping of the equipments and will report to the camp commandant.

6.     Quarter Master (Q.M.): He will be heading the kitchen.

7.     Rationing Officer (R.O.): He will assist the quarter master for the smooth functioning of the kitchen and both of them (Q.M. & R.O.) will report to the C.C.

8.     Reporter/Photographer: will take care of the publicity.

On each team the itinerary will include a team meeting which will be held (everyday) at the end of the trek where feedback for the day will be given to the leader, and the problem faced (if any) will be discussed so that the following day is devoid of such short comings. In this meeting even trifle matters such as the proposal for the next day’s menu will also be tabled by the quarter master for mutual approval and the R.O. will take stock of the rations and inform the camp commandant about it similarity briefings will be expected from every member about their allotted fields.
