History :
Samarth Ramdas had given a visit to Mahipatgad for his permanent stay. This fort is located in Khed Taluka near wadi Beladar. It covers an area of 200 acres & was built by Mahipat. The fort is now, damaged in damaged state. There is temple of Pareshwar on it and a lake in front of the temple. Pratapgad & Makaradgad can be seen from here. Kotwal darwaja, Lal Devdi darwaja, Osati darwaja, Yeshwant darwaja & Khed darwaja are the doors which lead to Mahipatgad. There is Hanuman Temple & Ganesh Temple near Khed darwaja. A small source of stream has originated in front of one of the doors. This door is known as 'Shiv Ganga'.
Sightseeing :
The whole fort is covered with heavy forestation. Finding reminants of the fort could become difficult. One must visit the Pareshwar mahadev mandir. It is in good condition. The other sopt to view is the water tank, lake in front of the temple. Thought not all enterances of te fort are in good condition but are worth viewing.
Ways To Reach :
Mahipat is situated east of Khed. One has to reach Khed by road or rail (~200 km). From Khed, one has to reach Dahivali by road.From Dahivali, Mahipat top is about 4 hrs trek. The route is through the col which is easily seen from village Dahivali. The col can be identified easly, which is the first col from the Mahipatgad massif. So do whatever dont let your eyes off this col and get there. This col is called the MharKhind "khind" in Marathi is col/pass.

A small group of trekkers can stay in the temple.

The water tank has water but must be filtered with cloth before drinking.
